Ideally positioned just two hours from Canberra and four from Sydney. Young is a vibrant country town set in a diverse agricultural and horticultural region that offers a friendly rural experience.

Young straddles all these major NSW regions of the South West, Riverina, Central West and Capital Country but it’s as the Hilltops region with neighbour’s Harden and Boorowa that it is best know today

Hilltops Food and Wine encompass fine cool climate wines, award winning Shiraz and delicious fare for the plate from succulent organic lamb, pork, beef, free range chickens and eggs to diverse grains, olive oils, cherries, plums, prunes, peaches, apricots.

Young is home to one of the nation’s most precious banners from our gold rush days, the Roll Up Banner which is housed in the town’s Lambing Flat Folk Museum.

The town is forging close ties with its Chinese sister city Lanzhou and the formation of the award winning Gold Trails is unfolding a new story of home grown rescue and heroism in the face of the riots in the 1860’s.

Whether you’ve come to work or play Young’s central location makes it a perfect meeting place for business catch ups and conferences through to family reunions and weddings.

Or just relax with family and friends and take in all the sights. Taste our fine local Hilltops wine and home grown produce

Three war memorials in Young and many in outlying villages record a contribution in theatres of war, with a town park named after Col Charles Anderson who was awarded a Victoria Cross from his contribution in World War II.
