2010 Cherry Queen Competition

The Cherry Queen competition is one of the major elements of the Cherry Festival and has been part of the celebrations from the very early stages of the festival.

By participating in the Cherry Queen competition, the local girls commit to an extensive program of events that include public speaking engagements, running and organizing fundraising events and promoting Young to Australia and the world through official engagements such as the auction of the first case of cherries at Flemington Markets. Just this one auction raised $ 25,000 for charity!

 

The crowning of the Cherry Queen 2010 will take place at the Cherry Festival Ball on the 3rd of December. The Cherry Festival Ball is open to everybody – residents of and visitors to Young! The ball is a great night with live entertainment being provided by Young’s own The Phat Boyz!

 

Tickets will be $ 30.00 per person and will be available from the Young Visitor Information Centre and www.visityoung.com.au
