How long have you lived in Young: 10 months. I am from Temora and moved here as I was offered a position to work at Young Hospital/Community Health.

What is the best thing about living here: The friendliness of the town has made settling in very easy. Everyone I have met have been so supportive and encouraging. I also like how Young has all the services you need - you don't need to travel elsewhere to shop. Young also has great cafe's which I like going to with friends

If you could change anything about your town, what would it be? Being from Temora, I am not used to the parking here so I am going to be controversial and say I would change it to nose in parking

Why did you enter the Cherry Queen contest? I entered the contest to be more actively involved in the community and as a way to give back to the community who have welcomely embraced me. I also wanted to meet new people and be able to raise money for the hospital auxiliary who constantly do great things for the Young Health Service

What is your favourite part of the Cherry Festival? My favourite part would have to be watching the cherry pie eating competition. It's funny to watch the tourists compete with the locals in this competition as the local seem to have their technique down pat and the tourists struggle to keep up

As part of your participation in the Cherry Queen contest is to organise a fundraising event, would you please tell us about your event? I am holding a wedding show on Sunday October 9th from 2pm to 5:30pm at the Young Golf Club. I am hoping that members of the community will lend their wedding dresses to a relative or friend who will wear the dress and parade them on the day. This will be a great opportunity to showcase wedding dresses from all era's and to also have a catch up with friends over cake and coffee.

Where do you hope to be in 10 years time? I hope that I will have brought my own place and have done a bit of travelling by this time. I also hope that my career will be going well and I will be continuing to enjoy life.
