Valley Fresh cherries and Stonefruits was founded by Barisha & Kathy Batinich with a vision to produce environmentally sustainable cherries and Stonefruits. These techniques have been passed on through three generations. The current direction of Valley Fresh Cherries & Stonefruits incorporates growing our produce by using a semi-sod culture methods and sea weed based semi-organic fertilizers. Producing high quality cherries for local and export markets.
Cherry Season begins mid November, through until late December.
Fruit is picked, hydro cooled and placed in cold storage within the hour. Quality control procedures are in place throughout the picking and packing process to ensure the fruit is at a quality standard when received by the consumer.

The genesis of White Gables Murrumburrah was in 2011 when local residents, Geraldine Dwyer and Aston Williams, were inspired to create a range of products to promote the town they both love.
So they set up a business partnership, set to work and designed a range of fridge magnets, tea towels, shopping bags, postcards, cushions, designer bags and mugs. All these items feature their logo and the messages "White Gables or Country Living Murrumburrah" on the design or gift tag.
But that was just the beginning. Besides sharing a love for their town they are also passionate about vintage items that include clothes, furniture, home and garden wares. They source the unusual, the quirky, the desirable and unique and restore and revamp these items.
The third strand in their business relates to their love of creating beautiful gardens. White Gables Murrumburrah incorporates two gardens, a two acre and a twelve hundred square metre cottage garden both within the township of Murrumburrah.
In 2012 White Gables Mururmburrah was listed as a recreational area which allows Geraldine and Aston to welcome visitors throughout the year to stop, relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the surroundings.
White Gables Murrumburrah is associated with Australia's Open Gardens. In October 2011 both gardens were open to the public and monies raised went to assist a local charity. In 2010 and 2011 both gardens were featured in the South West Slopes lifestyle magazine, Living.
A picturesque white shed has been designed as a shopfront and offers a wide selection of gifts and vintage items and was recently featured on Prime7News.

Situated near Young, on the South West Slopes of New South Wales, Willayoung Orchard is in the heart of this renowned cherry-growing district.
For many years Young was the leading cherry-producing area in the Southern Hemisphere. It is not so well-known that Young's mix of soils and strong summer conditions makes it an ideal environment for production of stonefruit.
Willayoung consists of over 5,500 trees on approximately 8 hectares(20 acres).
Purchased in 1988 by Andrew and Helen Ricketts the land was originally the site of Patterson's Abattoirs which serviced several of Young's butcheries. The Abattoirs operated until the 1960's. The land was originally bare ground, apart from a residence, as well as several of the abattoirs' buildings and yards. These buildings have now disappeared, apart from the slaughterhouse which has been converted to a machinery shed/workshop.
After initially operating as a fruit-tree nursery (with a small number of 'hobby' fruit trees) there has been a transition to full orchard operation. The final stage of this transition was the establishment of our packing shed in 2002.
"Wombat Heights " is owned and operated by Stephen and Kerry Eastlake. They grow cherries, peaches and sugar plums. Their orchards are very well maintained, mowed pasture strips between the well pruned trees, making it easier for picking.
YLAD Living Soils is an Australian owned company educating and supplying farmers with sustainable biological, organic and humus compost fertility products.
Programs are individually tailored to support the natural balance of the physical, chemical and biological aspects of the spoil lessoning the reliance on conventional chemical fertilisers.
The research centre is situated in the Margaret Newcombe Room of the Community Arts Centre, Campbell Street 9under the Bell Tower).

Young Regional School of Music provides individual shared and group lessons for students of all ages who wish to learn singing or play an instrument.

At Chalkers Crossing they focus on producing premium quality cool climate wines with grapes sourced from the Hilltops Region. They planted their first vines in late-1997 and made their first wines in March 2000.
Rockleigh Vineyard, just 5km south of Young in the Hilltops Region of New South Wales, was a neglected plum orchard when it was acquired by Chalkers Crossing. The orchard was converted to a modern 10ha vineyard in late-1997.
The red sandy loam soils of the Hilltops Region were recognised long ago as prime land for growing. The combination of fertile soils, reliable rainfall and a Mediterranean continental climate makes the Hilltops Region ideal for growing premium quality grapes for wine production.
Chalkers Crossing wine varieties include Riesling, Semillon, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon produced from grapes grown in their vineyard, and Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay produced from grapes grown for them in the Tumbarumba Region of New South Wales.
All of other wines are made at the Chalkers Crossing Winery on the Grenfell Road in Young.

The Flanders, Kirkwood and Mullany families established the Grove Estate vineyard in 1989. The property was purchased with the aim of producing premium cool climate wine grapes on its red volcanic red soils, situated 3km from Young on the Murringo Road at 530m above sea level.
The Grove Estate vineyards already had a long history of involvement with the wine growing industry with vines originally planted on the property back in 1886. The Croatian settlers moved into the region after leaving Dalmatia and brought with them bundles of vine cuttings, some of which survive at Grove Estate today.
Since 1989, over 50 hectares of vines have been planted on the property, including the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Zinfandel, Barbera, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay, Semillon and Nebbiolo.
In 1997 the partners of 'Grove Estate' decided to keep a small parcel of fruit and produce a range of premium wines under their own label. The first wine released was a 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon - and today, a smart selection of reds and whites exist. They include an Italian style Zinfandel, a Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Semillon and Nebbiolo. Some of these are also available in 375ml half size bottles.
Since the 2003 vintage, Tim Kirk of Clonakilla has made our Shiraz and more recently our Shiraz Viognier. He also oversees all the other wines that are made with great care at Long Rail Gully by Richard Parker.

The Young Historical Society Inc operates the Lambing Flat Folk Museum which is housed in part of the historic 1883 former public school building.
One of the many items on display is the "Roll-Up-Flag" a banner carried by the rioting European miners during this period of unrest in 1861. This flag forms part of the gold rush and mining history display.
The museum also houses textile, war, historic photographic collection,dentistry and hairdressing memoribilia a full size buggy and even a three legged chook.
The friendly volunteer staff members welcome visitors to the museum.
